DrainAway

Our work

See the job, not just the invoice.

Take a look at the problems we find, the work we carry out and the results we achieve.

Gurgling, slow draining, backing up and bad smells can all be signs that your drainage system may need attention.

Inspection chamber packed to the top with set yellow-brown cooking fat and grease, with a rod pushed into it.
Before
The same chamber jetted clean, with the green pipe now visible and water running through freely.
After

Chamber blocked solid with cooking grease

Before & After

Kitchen sink backing up over the worktop

The problem

A blocked waste pipe had backed up until the sink overflowed across the worktop and down into the units.

What we did

We located the blockage within the waste pipe and cleared it using a flex shaft, removing the build-up that was causing the sink to back up. We then flushed the pipe through and tested it under full flow before giving the affected area a thorough hygienic clean.

Chamber blocked solid with cooking grease

The problem

Cooking fat, oil and grease had built up and set hard within the chamber, eventually blocking the flow completely.

What we did

We used high-pressure water jetting to break down the hardened FOG build-up and thoroughly clean the chamber and outlet. Drain dye was then used to confirm that full flow had been restored, followed by a CCTV inspection to check the drainage for any defects or underlying issues. The chamber and surrounding area were left thoroughly clean.

Toilet blocked and holding foul water

The problem

The toilet wasn't clearing properly and wastewater was coming back up when flushed.

What we did

We used a rigid flexi shaft to navigate around the toilet bend and gain access to the soil pipe. The blockage was promptly cleared and full flow was restored. A dye test was then carried out from the toilet, with green dye passing through to the external chamber, confirming full flow had been restored. The whole area was then thoroughly disinfected.

Flooded and contaminated, washed back down

The problem

The drain had backed up and flooded the ground at the base of the downpipe, leaving the whole corner wet and contaminated.

What we did

Cleared the drain, then washed the whole area down with detergent until it ran clean, rather than leaving the mess for the customer.

Wet room drain backing up into the shower

The problem

The shower waste had backed up and pushed dirty silt out across the tiled floor every time it was used.

What we did

Cleared the waste run, flushed the trap and gully through, then cleaned the floor down before handing it back.
